Let me begin by congratulating you on your acceptance to JSU, fellow Gamecock! I hope you find campus as appealing as I have.
I am the president of the Lambda Gamma chapter of Kappa Sigma here at Jacksonville State University. I was a Fall 2014 initiate of our chapter from Stevenson, AL.
The fraternity has made many leaps and bounds over the past few years. We have had over 50+ members with one of the highest GPA on campus for several semesters with an average GPA of 2.9. Kappa Sigma has enjoyed much success over the past few years, with no sign of stopping. As President, I will push the fraternity to none less than absolute success. We are also very excited to be into our new Chapter House on Paul Carpenter Village.
Our four pillars are Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. Every brother that you meet exemplifies this in their life. We have leaders on campus, such as a GO! Leader, Student Ambassadors, SGA representatives, IFC President, VPSA and many more. Becoming a Kappa Sigma is just one step closer to getting involved on this campus. With Service, we have donated thousands of dollars over the last few years to Kappa Sigma's Military Heroes Campaign as well as several thousand hours of community service, showing the community that we are an asset that cares about the community.
Fellowship is one of the most fun and lasting parts of the fraternity. Every summer we take a group of young men to an Atlanta Braves game just to enjoy time together with brothers and friends. Another event we have is our annual Back on the Farm event which is a full day event with music, food, fellowship, and fun. We have our alumni who come back every year and hit it off like they were just initiated! Along with that, every fall we tailgate all of the home games and have the largest tailgate almost every game. Kappa Sigma is a brotherhood for life, not just for college.
Bottom line for Kappa Sigma: The fun is why you come, the brotherhood is why you stay.
Looking forward to hearing from you, fellow Gamecock!
